- LG CNS reported stronger third-quarter revenue and operating profit, while net profit declined year over year.
- AI, cloud and digital business services led growth as banking system projects entered full development.
- Management is expanding AI infrastructure, enterprise software investment and robotics projects.
LG CNS reported a 15.0% year-over-year increase in preliminary third-quarter operating profit on Friday, October 30, as AI, cloud and financial technology projects supported growth. Aju Press reported operating profit of 138.2 billion Korean won for the July-to-September period, compared with 120.2 billion Korean won a year earlier.
AI and Cloud Remain Core Drivers
Revenue rose 9.3% year over year to 1.66 trillion Korean won. The AI and cloud division, LG CNS's largest business, generated revenue of 961.5 billion Korean won, also up 9.3%, helped by data-center colocation and enterprise use of generative AI services.
Digital business services provided the strongest segment growth. Revenue increased 21.3% to 408.2 billion Korean won as next-generation banking system projects for NH NongHyup Bank, Mirae Asset Life Insurance and KB Kookmin Bank moved into full development.
Profit Growth Came With Earnings Pressure
Net profit fell 21.1% year over year to 83 billion Korean won, while net profit attributable to parent-company shareholders declined 21.4% to 82.4 billion Korean won. The contrasting performance leaves investors balancing stronger operating momentum against weaker bottom-line earnings.
LG CNS is also committing capital to future growth. The company said it acquired about 380 billion Korean won of equipment to secure graphics processing units for its AI factory business and began joint investments with General Atlantic in enterprise software and AI. It is seeking to convert robotics pilot projects based on its PhysicalWorks platform into broader contracts.
