Maybank is expanding its technology infrastructure after entering a five-year strategic agreement with ServiceNow on October 20, 2026. The programme will support the bank's regional Resilience Operations Centre across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, according to MarketScreener.

Technology becomes strategic infrastructure

The agreement is designed to give Maybank one integrated view of applications, infrastructure, technology assets and service dependencies. ServiceNow's platform will add artificial intelligence, operational monitoring, workflow automation and analytics to help teams identify potential service disruptions earlier.

The rollout starts in Malaysia and Singapore before expanding to Indonesia. The initiative covers Maybank's retail, small and medium-sized enterprise and corporate divisions, linking technology resilience to customer-facing banking services.

Regional rollout supports ROAR30

Maybank said the project forms part of its ROAR30 transformation programme. Management presented the investment as a way to improve operational visibility and support secure, dependable banking as customers rely more heavily on digital channels.

Maybank will also establish an internal Centre of Excellence with support from ServiceNow University. The unit is intended to develop skills in platform engineering, automation and artificial intelligence, while a separate NowNext AI programme will bring engineers from both companies together on banking use cases.

Business model and competition
