- Mercator Medical reported stronger margins, a favourable sales mix and improved purchasing terms as key drivers of its first-half performance.
- The United States was the Group's largest reported market, while sales also increased in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany.
- Management expects demand to stabilise but cautions that production and purchasing costs may continue to pressure margins.
Mercator Medical's first-half recovery has put profitability back at the centre of the investment case. In its October 1, 2026 report, the company said consolidated revenue reached PLN 337.2 million in the first half of 2026, up 16% year over year. Net profit rose 170% to PLN 57.7 million, while EBITDA increased to PLN 61.4 million from a loss of PLN 0.7 million a year earlier.
Margins drive the recovery
The company attributed the improvement primarily to wider margins, a more favourable sales mix and better purchasing terms for some goods. Higher selling prices and volumes in diagnostic gloves supported revenue, while optimisation, automation and broader sourcing helped contain manufacturing costs.
Management nevertheless expects demand to stabilise in the coming quarters and warned that elevated production and purchasing costs could affect margins. Raw-material, energy, logistics and transport-market volatility remain relevant risks for the glove business.
International sales remain important
The United States accounted for 40.6% of first-half sales, with revenue there reaching almost PLN 136.8 million and rising 29.3% year over year. Sales in Poland increased 17.1% to PLN 81 million, while the Czech Republic and Germany also posted growth. Romania was the exception among the leading markets, with sales down 11%.
Mercator Medical also reported stronger contributions from complementary products. Nonwovens revenue rose 26.1% to PLN 21.2 million, and household-glove volumes increased to 21.4 million pieces from 5.1 million in the comparable period. The cogeneration project at the Thailand plant was described as being in its final implementation stage and could support manufacturing efficiency.
