MicroVision expanded its collaboration with FieldAI on November 1, 2026, broadening work on lidar-based perception for autonomous systems in government and industrial applications. The announcement, carried by WBOC from an ACCESS Newswire release, says FieldAI has tested MicroVision technology and purchased MOVIA sensors for development and evaluation.
Testing moves across robotic platforms
FieldAI's Federal team evaluated MicroVision's IRIS long-range lidar sensor on autonomous ground vehicles. The companies also demonstrated an aerial setup combining the Robinson Unmanned Spirit drone platform with the MOVIA Air Plus sensor for real-time, colorized three-dimensional lidar mapping integrated with ATAK.
The expanded work covers long-range perception, short-range obstacle detection, navigation, mapping and mission execution. MicroVision said the companies are exploring broader adoption across FieldAI's Federal and Industrial programs, but the announcement did not provide a production agreement, deployment timetable, contract value or revenue forecast.
Commercial conversion remains ahead
For investors, the collaboration adds another evaluation pathway for MicroVision's lidar portfolio, but it remains distinct from a confirmed large-scale deployment. The next milestone is whether testing leads to broader program adoption and revenue-generating orders.
MicroVision's lidar business
MicroVision develops lidar-based perception hardware and software for industrial, security and defense, and automotive markets. Its portfolio includes short- and long-range solid-state sensors, aerial perception solutions and open software designed for real-world sensing applications. The company operates engineering centers in the United States and Germany and is positioning its products for the transition from technical evaluation to commercial deployment.
