- Yaakov Quint will become chairman of NewMed Energy on November 1, 2026.
- Niv Sarne is moving from the chair to the partnership's general manager role.
- NewMed Energy holds a major interest in the Leviathan gas field alongside Chevron and Ratio Energies.
NewMed Energy is changing its leadership structure after appointing Yaakov (Yanki) Quint as chairman of the board. The Jerusalem Post reported the appointment on October 28, 2026.
Quint takes the chair
Quint, 53, will assume the chairmanship on November 1. He is joining both NewMed Energy's board and one of the most important leadership positions within the Delek Group, which controls the partnership, according to the report.
Quint previously served as director of the Israel Land Authority from 2020 to 2025. Before that, he led the Government Companies Authority from 2017 to 2020.
Sarne moves to management
The change separates the chairmanship from day-to-day management. Niv Sarne, who became chairman only two months ago after Gaby Last's retirement, is moving into the role of general manager of NewMed Energy.
For investors, the leadership change comes as NewMed continues to develop its regional natural-gas portfolio. The partnership has a major interest in the Leviathan field, alongside Chevron and Ratio Energies. Leviathan supplies gas to Israel, Egypt and Jordan, making governance and project execution relevant to the partnership's future operating profile.
