- OCI will reorganize its operating company under management, technical safety and business divisions.
- The group is adding dedicated structures for semiconductor materials, AI transformation and information security.
OCI will reorganize its operating company under three executive divisions and establish a dedicated semiconductor materials unit, according to Financial News. The changes were announced on Monday, November 2, as part of the group's 2027 executive appointments and organizational restructuring.
New divisions target execution
The operating company OCI will be organized around management, technical safety and business. The group said leaders responsible for each function should improve decision-making and execution across the organization.
A Semiconductor Materials Business Division will sit within the business division. OCI is also creating dedicated organizations for AI transformation and information security, linking the restructuring to operational modernization and protection of the group's information systems.
Semiconductor demand shapes strategy
The restructuring comes as OCI expands its focus on higher-value materials for chip production. The OCI company website lists polysilicon, phosphoric acid, hydrogen peroxide, HCDS and fumed silica among its semiconductor materials.
OCI's semiconductor materials business is positioned alongside Lotte Fine Chemical and LG Chem in South Korea's specialty-materials market, according to The Herald Business. OCI is more concentrated on phosphoric acid, hydrogen peroxide and semiconductor-grade polysilicon, while the named peers are developing their own specialty-material portfolios.
South Korea's semiconductor supply chain remains the broader market backdrop for OCI stock investors: KOSPI market coverage.
