Ora Banda Mining is advancing a multi-year expansion across its Western Australian gold operations, with construction at Davyhurst and underground development at Waihi progressing during the September quarter. Stockhead reported on October 23 that the company continues to pursue its DRIVE to 300 ambition, which it describes as an aspiration rather than a formal production target.
Davyhurst plant remains on schedule
Work on the new Davyhurst processing plant includes earthworks, structural steel and foundations for the milling, crushing and carbon-in-leach circuits. The facility is planned to provide 3 million tonnes per year of processing capacity, compared with 1.2 million tonnes per year at the existing plant. Delivery is targeted for early 2028, while construction remains within budget and on schedule.
Ora Banda is also using third-party processing to supplement current capacity. About 380,000 tonnes of low-grade stockpiles are available as commissioning material for the new plant, according to the Stockhead report.
Underground projects build future supply
Development at Waihi began in September and is scheduled to provide high-grade ore from mid-2027. The Palmerston decline at Sand King North followed in early October and is intended to support drilling access and potential mine-life extensions.
The operating quarter was affected by wet-weather haulage interruptions and an extended Davyhurst mill shutdown for maintenance and gearbox replacement. Ora Banda produced 33,305 ounces of gold and sold 33,939 ounces, while all-in sustaining costs increased to 4,214 Australian dollars per ounce sold from 3,870 Australian dollars in the June quarter. Fiscal 2027 guidance was maintained.
Gold producer with Western Australian focus
Ora Banda Mining operates gold assets in Western Australia, centered on the Davyhurst project and its associated underground deposits. Its development program combines open-pit and underground mining with processing expansion, exploration access and infrastructure upgrades. The company is building a larger processing platform while bringing new underground sources into its production pipeline.
