- Higher liquidity gives the expansion programme additional funding capacity, while elevated costs and execution remain key investor considerations.
Ora Banda Mining maintained its FY27 production and cost guidance after a difficult September quarter, while advancing its DRIVE to 300 expansion strategy in Western Australia. The Augusta-Margaret River Times reported on October 23 that the company produced 33,305 ounces of gold in the September quarter.
Growth projects remain on schedule
Quarterly all-in sustaining costs rose to 4,214 Australian dollars per ounce after a planned mill shutdown and adverse weather. Management nevertheless retained FY27 guidance of 125,000 to 140,000 ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of 3,400 to 3,600 Australian dollars per ounce.
Ora Banda is building a processing plant with annual capacity of 3.0 million tonnes at its Davyhurst operations. Primary earthworks, footings and structural steel work were under way, with construction described as on schedule and within budget. Underground development at the Waihi mine also began ahead of schedule, with first high-grade ore expected from early to mid-2027 and plant commissioning targeted for early 2028.
Liquidity supports expansion spending
The company held 207 million Australian dollars in cash at the end of the quarter and later increased its revolving credit facility to 300 million Australian dollars from 200 million. Together, those facilities lifted reported available liquidity to 507 million Australian dollars. Capital infrastructure spending reached 81.1 million Australian dollars during the quarter, underscoring the funding requirements of the expansion plan.
