Pinnacle Investment Management Group used its annual general meeting on Friday, October 30, to highlight record FY26 inflows, stronger international demand and continued expansion beyond Australia. In the Managing Director's address, the company said net profit after tax rose to AUD 176.7 million in the year ended June 30, 2026, up 31 percent from the prior year.

The headline result included a non-cash gain of AUD 46.2 million related to the move to full ownership of Pacific Asset Management and returns from principal investments. Excluding those effects, Pinnacle reported underlying profit of AUD 138.0 million, up 21 percent. Diluted earnings per share increased 25 percent to 78.1 Australian cents, while total dividends for the year reached 60.0 cents per share.

International flows lead growth

Aggregate affiliate funds under management reached AUD 229.4 billion at June 30, up 28 percent from a year earlier. Net inflows rose to AUD 33.4 billion, including AUD 12.3 billion from international clients, AUD 10.9 billion from Australian institutions and AUD 10.2 billion from Australian retail investors.

International clients became the largest contributor to inflows for the first time. Pinnacle said funds sourced from outside Australia reached AUD 74.9 billion, or about one-third of total funds under management, across more than 50 countries.

The momentum continued into the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Affiliate funds under management increased to AUD 238.1 billion at September 30, while quarterly net inflows reached AUD 5.9 billion. Management said demand remained resilient across active global equities, global listed credit, Australian equities and real assets.

Private credit remains a watchpoint

Pinnacle said international institutional outflows partly offset robust domestic institutional flows during the quarter. Management also warned that well-known headwinds in private credit could weigh on flows in the short term, while retaining confidence in Metrics Credit Partners and the asset class over the medium and long term.

Performance fees remain an important but variable earnings driver. Affiliate performance fees declined from the unusually strong prior-year level, although twelve affiliates generated fees during FY26. Pinnacle said its strategy is to combine existing-affiliate growth with new capabilities and selective investments in established managers.

Business model and market position

Pinnacle Investment Management Group is an Australia-based multi-affiliate asset manager. It takes equity stakes in investment managers and provides distribution, operations, risk, technology and responsible-entity services across multiple asset classes and geographies.

The group combines exposure to established and developing affiliates rather than operating as a single investment boutique. In the Australian listed asset-management market, it competes with GQG Partners, Netwealth Group and Australian United Investments, while its affiliate model gives it a more specialized platform position than larger integrated managers.
