- Unicasa signed a BNDES loan on October 1, 2026, with pricing below CDI and repayments scheduled from 2028.
- Second-quarter revenue fell year on year, while exports, earnings and EBITDA weakened.
Unicasa signed a new BNDES financing agreement on October 1, 2026, as weaker sales and profitability increased pressure on the Brazilian furniture maker. Dealroom News reported the transaction on October 21.
Loan terms ease near-term pressure
The financing was arranged through Santander under the Brasil Soberano Competitividade program. The loan carries interest at CDI minus 1.15 percent, includes a 12-month grace period and will be amortized over 48 months. Semiannual payments are scheduled from April 2028 through October 2031.
The new facility gives Unicasa longer-term funding at a rate below CDI. It also creates a defined repayment burden that future operating cash flow will need to cover. For investors, the key issue is whether the funds support investment and cash generation while demand and margins remain under pressure.
Weak second-quarter operating picture
Dealroom reported that second-quarter 2026 net revenue fell 14 percent year on year to US$14 million. Exports declined 41 percent, while the company posted a US$1.33 million net loss and negative EBITDA.
Unicasa ended the quarter with US$18.2 million in net debt, according to the report. The combination of weaker international sales, negative EBITDA and additional borrowing leaves execution and cash generation as the main issues for the next reporting periods.
Furniture brands and production base
Unicasa produces planned furniture for residential and commercial markets. Its brands include Dell Anno, New, Casa Brasileira and Unicasa Corporate, and its factory is located in Bento Goncalves, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
