A state-funded project in Hesse is reshaping how German workplaces think about ergonomics, as a wave of new products hitting the market this month addresses both common neck complaints and the needs of employees with physical disabilities.
The initiative, led by LIPA Lichtpartner in collaboration with Treston, created fully inclusive workstations featuring electrically height-adjustable tables, modular designs, ergonomic chairs and anti-static (ESD) protection. Hesse's Integration Office bankrolled the project, which is specifically tailored for people with limited mobility. The desks are part of a broader July rollout by multiple manufacturers aimed at making office work healthier and more accessible.

Screen Height on a Budget
For those battling neck pain from low laptop screens, the Stenerik stand offers a cheap fix at just under 20 euros. Designer Zhelin Lian built the model from laminated plywood; it raises the display to eye level and improves airflow underneath the device. A pricier bamboo monitor riser adds a built-in drawer for extra storage. Meanwhile, vertical laptop holders made of aluminium — for notebooks up to 15.6 inches — have been available at reduced prices since July 17.
Heavier setups get new full-aluminium monitor arms that comply with VESA standards. They adjust in height, tilt and swivel, and support displays weighing up to eight kilograms.
Certified Comfort for Gamers and Office Workers
On July 16, a new line of gaming chairs hit store shelves, each carrying certification from both TÜV and BIFMA. Adjustable lumbar support and armrests aim to keep the spine aligned during long sessions. Alongside them, ergonomic office chairs with mesh backrests and headrests are also being offered.

Lighting and Motion Enter the Equation
Eye strain is another target. LED desk lamps certified by the Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR) became available July 16. Users can choose between four colour-temperature levels and multiple brightness settings.
