A day after one manufacturer unveiled a high-tech gaming chair with game-syncing lights, another doubled down on recyclable materials for its flagship office model. The back-to-back launches on June 25 and 26 underscore a market where innovation and cost-cutting increasingly compete for buyers.

Razer’s Soma Chroma, introduced June 26, is a wireless gaming chair equipped with a reactive lighting system that synchronises with more than 300 games and offers over 16 million colour options. Power comes via USB-C – from a wall outlet or a portable power bank – and the chair uses a lumbar arch plus dual-density cold foam for support. The price: roughly €180.

Twenty-four hours earlier, Klöber presented a new edition of its Connex Signature swivel chair in a Stone Grey finish that relies heavily on secondary raw materials. The backrest carrier and the foot base are made entirely from recycled aluminium. The mesh upholstery uses 78 percent recycled polyester in the seat and 65 percent in the backrest. The company says the mesh manufacturing process produces no waste fabric.

The market itself is far from static. On June 26, significant discounts appeared on several ergonomic models. The Sihoo Doro C300 Pro V2, featuring a dynamic lumbar support system and 8D armrests, was offered at between €404 and €430 – its regular price is roughly €500. Meanwhile, a height-adjustable desk from Desktronic, the Home One, dropped to about €323.

Market analyses looking toward 2026 have already identified two standout options: the CLOUVOU MasterSeat in the premium segment and the FlexiSpot BS7 as a price-performance recommendation.

Yet for all the tech and discounts, the basic principles of a healthy screen-based workstation remain unchanged. Experts recommend placing the monitor directly in front of the user with the top edge at eye level, and adjusting the viewing distance so that leaning forward is unnecessary. Alternative seating concepts such as the Varier Move or kneeling chairs encourage dynamic sitting, while home-office setups should include distinct zones for focused work and breaks. Lighting plans that use cool tones for concentration and warmer tones for communication support both well-being and performance, according to analysts.
