Mental Health Now Top Workplace Hazard as German Regulations Expand Across Heat, Chemicals, and Critical Infrastructure

Germany’s workplace safety landscape is shifting fast—and the biggest threat is no longer a physical one. According to data presented at the 11th Prevention Forum of the National Prevention Conference on June 30 in Berlin, mental illnesses accounted for 16.7 percent of all days lost to sick leave in 2024.
