High Court blocks Palantir's bid to accelerate trial over ÂŁ50M Met Police contract, extending uncertainty until 2027 despite strong 84.7% revenue growth and AI expansion.

Palantir London Legal Fight Delayed to 2027 Amid UK Political Scrutiny

The clock is ticking toward 2027 before Palantir can expect clarity from its London legal fight. A High Court judge has refused to accelerate the hearing in the company’s challenge against the Mayor of London’s office over a blocked £50 million contract with the Metropolitan Police, pushing the trial start to January. For a stock already down 22.42% year-to-date, the delay extends a cloud that has little to do with product performance—and everything to do with the deepening political scrutiny the data analytics firm faces in the UK public sector.

Palantir argues that the Met Police’s procurement process was improperly derailed by political considerations about the company’s “values and ethics.” Its barrister, David Pannick, told the court the force needed the technology urgently to cut costs and protect frontline operations. Mayor Sadiq Khan’s office counters that the Met failed to seek proper approval and limited talks to a single vendor. Judge Adam Constable sided with the procedural timeline, meaning a resolution—if any—is at least 18 months away.

That legal standoff is part of a broader pattern. British lawmakers and unions are pressing the government to reconsider a separate £330 million contract with the National Health Service, citing data privacy worries and the company’s roots in defense and intelligence. A parliamentary committee last month flagged a “clear discrepancy with British values” and urged the NHS to exercise its exit clause. The Netherlands has seen similar calls for a retreat. Palantir still holds contracts with the NHS, the Ministry of Defence, and several regional police forces, but the cumulative effect of these value-vs-security debates is a persistent drag on sentiment.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Palantir?

None of this, however, shows up in the operating numbers. Palantir’s latest quarter delivered revenue growth of 84.7%—the kind of pace that makes other software firms envious. Its Rule of 40 score hit 145%, a metric that normally commands a premium. The company is also deepening its push into sovereign AI through a partnership with Nvidia, deploying Nemotron models inside secure government environments. CEO Alex Karp has taken aim at rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic, calling their per-token pricing “broken” and accusing them of double-billing while harvesting customer data. A reported case study with Rackspace showed offer-cycle times slashed by 94%.

That operational strength stands in stark contrast to the chart. On Friday the stock closed at €111.02, down 1.70% on the day and 1.12% on the week. It sits 3.27% below its 50-day moving average of €114.78 and a hefty 16.90% below the 200-day line of €133.60. From the 52-week high of €179.98 touched on November 3, 2025, the decline amounts to 38.32%. The stock has recovered about 19% from its 52-week low of €93.30 hit on June 26, 2026, but the annualized volatility of 53.07% underscores how acutely the shares react to regulatory headlines. The Relative Strength Index stands at 48.8—neutral territory that offers no directional signal.

Adding to the unease, recent filings revealed insider stock sales to cover tax obligations, while high-profile funds including ARK Invest have trimmed positions. Even with a consensus analyst price target of €160.38—implying upside of roughly 44.5% from current levels—the near-term narrative is dominated by a market that cannot look past the legal and ethical fray long enough to embrace the revenue trajectory. For investors, the bet on Palantir is no longer about whether the technology works. The question is whether a London courtroom in January can break the spell that ideological opposition has cast on the stock.
