ProSiebenSat.1 Bolsters Streaming Ambitions with Major Content Acquisitions

In a strategic push to reinforce its core entertainment business, German media group ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE has secured a series of key licensing agreements. The company is significantly expanding its content library through a new multi-year exclusive partnership with NBC Universal Global TV Distribution, alongside a separate deal for children's programming.

The cornerstone of this content offensive is the exclusive pact with NBC Universal. This agreement grants ProSiebenSat.1 the rights to approximately 2,000 hours of Hollywood films and series for its platforms. The deal includes major titles from the 2024/25 period and provides exclusive exploitation rights for the group's streaming service Joyn, as well as its linear TV channels Sat.1 and ProSieben.

Simultaneously, the company's Joyn platform has entered into its first content agreement with Studio100, a leading producer of children's and family entertainment. This move strategically adds dedicated children's formats to Joyn's offering, marking an expansion into a new demographic segment.

ProSiebenSat.1 continues to operate across its core segments: Entertainment, Dating & Video, and Commerce & Ventures. The latest content deals are a clear investment aimed at solidifying its entertainment division, which remains central to its business model.
