ServiceNow’s bet on artificial intelligence is paying off in ways that are reshaping investor sentiment. The number of enterprise clients spending more than $1 million annually on the company’s AI services—powered by the “Now Assist” platform—soared 130% year over year. That explosive growth in high-value AI subscriptions is providing a tangible counter-narrative to the prevailing bearishness that has dogged the software sector for months.

The market response was immediate and emphatic. On Monday, the stock posted its strongest single-day performance in over a year, surging nearly 9% to close at $103.52. Trading volume exploded to more than 50 million shares, more than double the daily average, as investors scrambled to reposition. In just three sessions, the shares have climbed roughly 19%, reclaiming the psychologically important $100 threshold.

The rally is part of a broader rotation now underway. While hardware and chip names such as Micron Technology have stumbled, capital is flowing back into established software platforms with proven recurring revenue streams. ServiceNow, along with peers Zscaler and Salesforce, is riding this wave. Market participants see these moves as a search for quality growth at more reasonable valuations, especially as generative AI tailwinds begin to translate into real contract wins.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying ServiceNow?

Management is cementing the AI push with a series of strategic alliances. A new partnership with Experian will embed the AI platform deeper into enterprise workflows, while a collaboration with Amazon Web Services targets robust AI governance frameworks. The company is also working closely with Nvidia and AWS on marketplaces and technical integrations; already, transactions via the AWS marketplace have surpassed $1 billion, underscoring the speed of adoption for the new AI tools. These moves are designed to position ServiceNow as the operating system for digital workflows—a central nervous system for enterprises.

The operational foundation remains solid. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, total revenue rose 22% to $3.77 billion, with subscriptions accounting for the lion’s share. Management subsequently lifted its full-year guidance for those recurring revenues. The long-term ambition is nothing short of audacious: by 2030, the company aims to push annual subscription revenue alone past $30 billion. Financial models project sustained top-line growth of around 20% through 2028, supported by stable cash flow margins.

Analysts have responded with cautious optimism. The consensus price target sits at roughly $142, implying further upside from current levels. Yet the valuation is already stretched. With a market capitalization near $106 billion and a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 61 (around 56 according to some estimates), the stock reflects high expectations. The 32% recovery since the start of the year marks a clear shift in mood, but the next technical hurdle looms at $110. For now, the combination of a surging AI customer base, strategic partnerships, and a sector rotation tailwind gives ServiceNow a compelling narrative—as long as those subscription growth rates hold.
