Siemens Energy’s Grid-Tech Engine Drives Analyst Optimism Despite Recent Pullback
Published on 06/17/2026 at 20:01 | Redaktion boerse-global.deThe recent turbulence in European industrial stocks has created what UBS calls a clear entry point for Siemens Energy. Analyst Andre Kukhnin, in a fresh sector study, highlights the US-Iran framework agreement as a potential catalyst for capital goods makers, reinforcing a buy rating and a €175 price target. The Xetra-listed shares, which recently traded around €156, offer meaningful upside from that level — even after Wednesday’s 3.52% rally to €160.98 pushed the year-to-date gain to 31%.
Behind the bullish call lies a story of surging demand for electricity infrastructure, driven largely by the insatiable power needs of artificial intelligence. Siemens Energy’s Grid Technologies unit — the division with the fattest profit margins — is the standout beneficiary, with management targeting an operating margin of up to 20% by 2026. Revenue growth in that segment could hit 27%, while total group revenue is forecast to expand as much as 16% that year. The broader profitability picture is also improving: the company now expects a group operating margin of 10–12% for 2026, up from previous guidance.
Executives aren’t shy about the urgency either. CEO Christian Bruch warned in mid-June that Germany is falling behind in data centre construction, tying the nation’s prosperity directly to the build-out of AI-ready infrastructure. For Siemens Energy, each new data centre translates into orders for transformers and grid connections. The overall financial plan remains intact: a net profit target of roughly €4 billion and free cash flow before taxes of €8 billion — a leap from earlier expectations that underscores the cash-generating power of the grid boom.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens Energy?
The analyst consensus mirrors this optimism, with the average price target standing at €186.30 and JPMorgan calling €225. Yet the stock is still recovering from its April correction. The 50-day moving average of €169.12 is now within striking distance — just under 5% above the current price. Technically, a sustained break above the €165 resistance zone would clear the path for an extension of the rebound. Spätestens mit den nächsten Quartalszahlen muss der Konzern die hohen Erwartungen mit neuen Aufträgen untermauern.
