2G Energy Hands CFO Reins to DEUTZ Veteran as Heartbeat AI Pact Targets Data Centres
Published on 11/08/2026 at 07:21 | Editorial boerse-global.de2G Energy has moved to settle its finance leadership well ahead of time, naming Martin Laux as chief financial officer with effect from 1 November. The announcement, made on 2 November, sets in motion a handover that will see Friedrich Pehle step down from the management board on 1 January 2027 and shift his focus to investor relations thereafter.
Laux arrives from DEUTZ AG, where he most recently served as finance chief of the Engines business unit. At 2G Energy he takes over the CFO role outright, while Pehle's planned departure covers both his board seat and his future remit — once he leaves the executive, contact with investors becomes his central brief.
The transition had been in preparation for some time, according to the company. Shares in 2G Energy, however, have had a rough stretch: the stock shed 26% over the past 30 days. The Scale market report published by Deutsche Börse on Friday cited no specific company-level trigger for the move.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying 2G Energy?
Software Tie-Up Extends to CHP and Gas-to-Power Units
Separately from the boardroom reshuffle, 2G Energy has struck a technology partnership with 1KOMMA5°, disclosed in a 1KOMMA5° statement dated 30 October. Under the arrangement, the Heartbeat AI software is to be used to coordinate 2G installations — including the company's combined heat and power and gas-to-power systems.
According to 1KOMMA5°, the control system will weigh photovoltaic generation, storage and grid power together against prevailing electricity demand. The partners name data centres and industrial applications among the fields of use, so the collaboration is not confined to powering data centres alone but stretches to manufacturing settings as well. The upshot is a coordinated approach to managing the different energy components; deployment of Heartbeat AI for that task is slated as a future step.
Q3 Revenue and EBIT Due 23 November
Investors will get their next look at the numbers on 23 November, when 2G Energy is scheduled to publish revenue and EBIT for the third quarter of 2026, per its financial calendar. Both top-line sales and earnings before interest and taxes for the period are on the agenda.
The same day marks the opening of the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum, running from 23 to 25 November 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, where the company has announced it will take part — putting its quarterly release and its appearance at the investor conference on a single date.
