Bajaj Mobility's Quarterly Profit Faces a Nine-Month Reality Check
Published on 11/07/2026 at 05:01 | Editorial boerse-global.deBajaj Mobility has given investors two numbers to weigh against each other, and they point in opposite directions. The third quarter of 2026 delivered an operating profit of EUR 11.3 million, a sharp reversal from the EUR 71 million loss booked in the same period a year earlier. Yet the interim report published on Tuesday also shows that, across the first nine months of 2026, the group is still running an operating loss of TEUR 13,532 on revenue of TEUR 1,052,540.
That gap between a single strong quarter and a still-negative cumulative result sits at the heart of the investment case. Anyone betting on a sustained turnaround has to trust that the latest three months are a fair guide to what comes next. Anyone demanding a sturdier earnings base will keep their eyes on the nine-month figure. Both camps can find support in the same set of disclosures.
Volume Growth Backs the Bull Case
The quarter's improvement did not arrive in isolation. Group revenue climbed 57.0% year on year to EUR 351.1 million, pushing the nine-month top line past the EUR 1 billion mark. Motorcycle deliveries across the KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles and GASGAS brands reached 47,390 units, up 51.1% from the third quarter of 2025. EBITDA came in at EUR 40.7 million, a margin of 11.6%.
For the optimistic reading, those figures matter because they show profitability arriving alongside a much larger business rather than instead of growth. If Bajaj Mobility can pair higher volumes with operating profit again in the coming quarters, the case for a durable recovery rests on more than one reporting period. The emphasis then shifts from the size of the business to the quality of the earnings it generates.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Bajaj Mobility AG?
The Cumulative Loss Is the Sticking Point
The counterargument is straightforward. A single profitable quarter does not erase a negative result over nine months, and if quarterly profitability slips back into the red, the cumulative loss becomes a louder warning signal. The bearish scenario does not require a collapse in demand. Even a pattern of growing volumes without a matching improvement in earnings would undercut the bullish framing.
Notably, weaker growth on its own would be less troubling provided operating profitability held. That asymmetry explains why the debate centres on earnings quality rather than revenue momentum. A further set of results could sharpen the picture considerably, particularly if it shows whether profitability is persisting across multiple quarters or remains a one-off.
Brazil Plant Adds Capacity
Operationally, the company has also expanded its manufacturing footprint. The KTM assembly plant in Manaus opened roughly three weeks ago and covers both vehicle and engine assembly. At single-shift operation it is designed for a capacity of about 10,000 motorcycles a year and produces exclusively for the Brazilian market.
