BYD's Fang Cheng Bao Pipeline Thickens as Q3 Profit Growth Trails Estimates
Published on 11/07/2026 at 19:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deFang Cheng Bao, BYD's premium sub-brand, has confirmed the existence of yet another model, the Tai 6, adding fresh metal to a product push that is already delivering sharply higher volumes. The same day, a DiSus-C version of the Formula S rolled off the line, with deliveries of that variant expected between mid and late November.
The confirmation lands alongside a detailed launch calendar. According to CnEVPost, the Tai 9 is slated to arrive in November 2026, while the Shark pickup is earmarked for a China market launch in December 2026. Further out, the Formula SL is expected in 2027. The Formula S and Formula S GT, for their part, already went on sale on 16 September, with the Formula S starting at 189,900 yuan.
Those staggered dates turn each announcement into a concrete test. What matters for investors is whether the pipeline converts into incremental sales rather than simply a longer brochure.
October Volume Sets a High Bar
On that front, the brand enters the launch window with momentum. Fang Cheng Bao sold 43,872 vehicles in October 2026, a gain of 41.29% on the same month a year earlier. Over the first ten months of 2026, sales reached 329,308 units, up 124.99% year on year.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying BYD?
At group level, BYD reported October vehicle sales up 11% from a year earlier at roughly 490,000 units, a figure Reuters calculated from company disclosures. Overseas deliveries did the heavy lifting, more than doubling — up 102.8% — to about 170,000 vehicles, outpacing growth in the overall sales base.
Third-Quarter Earnings Miss the Mark
The expansion comes as BYD's profitability draws closer scrutiny. On 29 October, the company reported a higher net profit for the third quarter of 2026 that nonetheless fell short of analyst forecasts. Profit attributable to shareholders reached 10 billion RMB, according to media reports, an increase of 28.08% from the prior-year period. Revenue climbed 13.59% to 221.5 billion RMB.
The second generation of the Seal 07 has already launched in China, offered in both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid form, with list prices running from 139,900 RMB to 172,900 RMB.

Brussels Under Pressure
Elsewhere, European politics is intruding on the story. Fourteen members of the European Parliament have written to the European Commission asking it to assess potential safety risks posed by BYD vehicles, Reuters reported. The lawmakers also floated possible restrictions, including exclusion from public procurement. BYD has said vehicle and cloud data cannot be accessed remotely from China.
Shares finished Friday up 1.7% at €8.54. Whether the model offensive translates into lasting demand is the question the coming launches will answer — and the nearer milestones, the DiSus-C deliveries and the scheduled debuts, will be the first real scorecard.
