FACC shares climbed 6.3% on Thursday, putting the Austrian aerospace supplier among the strongest performers in a broadly rising market alongside AT&S. The ATX Prime was up 1.97% by midday, and FACC stock changed hands at EUR 13.84. The previous session had been far quieter: the paper added 0.5% to close at EUR 13.02.

Behind the trading activity sits a multi-year spending plan. According to media reports, FACC intends to commit roughly EUR 350 million through 2030, directing the funds into new technologies and additional manufacturing capacity. The program, first announced about a month ago, covers both technological development and the expansion of production.

St. Martin Plant at the Heart of the Plan

The most concrete element is a new factory in St. Martin im Innkreis, budgeted at around EUR 120 million. The facility is designed to double capacity for large-scale structural components at that site — an expansion confined to this segment of production rather than the company's overall manufacturing footprint.

Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026, with operations due to start in mid-2028. Full build-out is targeted for the end of 2029, meaning commissioning and completion of the entire expansion are separate milestones.

CEO: New Aircraft Generation Arriving 2030–2035

CEO Robert Machtlinger has framed the spending as preparation for the next generation of aircraft. In a media interview on 21 October, he said new models would reach the market between 2030 and 2035, and that FACC must develop the technologies, materials and processes for them today. In an interview just over a week earlier, he noted that the next aircraft generation is now expected later than had been assumed a year before.

On current demand, Machtlinger pointed to almost 19,000 aircraft on order across the industry — an order book he said would keep the sector well utilized for ten years. That assessment applies to the industry as a whole.

Reporting Date Precedes Construction Start

Investors get their next look at the company's numbers on 11 November, when FACC publishes its interim report for the third quarter. The release lands ahead of the planned year-end construction start in St. Martin.
