Heidelberg Materials Lifts Revenue 10% as Analysts Raise Targets and Nordic Deal Takes Shape
Published on 11/06/2026 at 17:02 | Editorial boerse-global.deHeidelberg Materials reported a 10% rise in third-quarter 2026 revenue to EUR 6,413 million on Wednesday, pairing the top-line advance with a confirmed full-year outlook. The result from current operations, or RCO, climbed 9% to EUR 1,281 million — growing slightly slower than sales, a gap that now sits at the center of the investment case.
The quarterly release, together with expanded cost-cutting plans, triggered a jump in the share price, according to Reuters. The stock traded at EUR 175.50, below the price targets analysts have set in the days since.
Guidance Holds, With a Margin Question Attached
Management reiterated its 2026 RCO range of EUR 3.40 billion to EUR 3.65 billion and continues to guide for a return on invested capital slightly above 10%. No upgrade accompanied the confirmation, so the growth story still rests on execution within the existing corridor rather than on a raised bar.
Chief executive Dominik von Achten had already flagged the first signs of a construction recovery in comments to Reuters on October 23, pointing to investment tied to Germany's infrastructure package gradually gathering pace.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Heidelberg Materials?
Targets Move Higher Across the Street
Goldman Sachs lifted its price target to EUR 220 from EUR 210, keeping a buy rating, with analyst Ben Rada Martin raising earnings estimates through 2028 by as much as 6%. RBC Capital Markets moved its target to EUR 217 from EUR 211 while maintaining an outperform rating. A third research house also raised its fair value estimate and held its buy recommendation after the figures.
Deutsche Bank Research, by contrast, left its target unchanged at EUR 206 with a buy rating following its earnings call. The buy case therefore carries weight but must now be measured against future earnings delivery — the target reflects an assessment, while the company still has to produce the operating performance behind it.
A mandatory disclosure also revealed a share purchase by Heidelberg Materials board member Hakan Gurdal, who acquired stock in the company.
Portfolio Moves Add a Second Test
Beyond the quarterly numbers, investors are weighing the agreement signed October 7 to acquire NCC AB's Swedish and Norwegian aggregates and asphalt operations. The NCC industry division runs 106 aggregates sites and 44 hot-mix asphalt plants in those markets. The addition would count as a positive if the transaction closes and the acquired activities subsequently contribute to earnings — again, the earnings effect is what matters.
Capital allocation belongs in the same assessment. On October 1, Heidelberg Materials completed the third and final tranche of its share buyback program, worth roughly EUR 448 million; the full program totaled EUR 1.2 billion.
Heidelberg Materials at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
What Would Break the Thesis
The genuine risk is a continuation of the diverging growth rates between revenue and profit. Should Heidelberg Materials keep adding business at a weaker earnings conversion, that would argue against an optimistic valuation of the growth prospects, and shareholders would need to focus on quality rather than scale. A softer earnings trend would weigh on the buy case even if revenue keeps expanding.
The next concrete checkpoint is the release of full-year 2026 results on February 25, 2027, when investors can check how the confirmed outlook was delivered. For further upside, what counts most is whether the company can bring growth and capital returns together convincingly.
