JinkoSolar's Narrower-Than-Feared Loss Lifts Shares Even as Revenue and Shipments Slide
Published on 10/30/2026 at 15:21 | Editorial boerse-global.deJinkoSolar shares climbed 6.9% on Thursday after the solar manufacturer posted a far smaller adjusted loss than Wall Street had braced for — a rare bright spot in a quarter otherwise marked by shrinking revenue, weaker shipments and a change at the top of its finance department.
The company reported an adjusted loss of RMB 3.20 per ADS, well inside the RMB 11.01 loss analysts had forecast in consensus estimates. Media reports attributed the premarket advance to the earnings beat.
Top Line Falls Short
Revenue, however, missed the mark. JinkoSolar booked RMB 13.62 billion in the third quarter of 2026, short of the RMB 16.34 billion consensus. Sales fell 15.7% year over year, according to company figures.
Profitability on the gross line told a better story. Gross margin improved to 12.3%, up sharply from 4.2% in the second quarter.

Module shipments also came in below the prior-year level. The company delivered 15,003 MW of modules in the third quarter of 2026, a 25.0% decline from a year earlier. For the fourth quarter of 2026, JinkoSolar guided to shipments of 16.0 GW to 18.0 GW — a forecast of expected volumes rather than completed deliveries.
CFO Departs, Interim Successor Named
Alongside the results, the company announced a leadership shake-up in its finance function. Mengmeng Li stepped down as chief financial officer effective today. Kun Zhang was appointed interim CFO with immediate effect, and Gen Miao was also named a director today.
The results themselves were released before the U.S. market open, a date the company had flagged on October 23. A preliminary loss estimate for the operating subsidiary had already been circulating, though it does not correspond to the group's consolidated figures.
Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. said on October 16 that it expected a net loss attributable to shareholders of between RMB 2,976.33 million and RMB 3,576.33 million for the first nine months of 2026, on a preliminary and unaudited basis. Excluding extraordinary gains and losses, the subsidiary projected a net loss of RMB 3,811.12 million to RMB 4,411.12 million. The company stressed that these subsidiary figures differ from Jinko Holdings' consolidated results in both scope of consolidation and accounting basis.
Rebranding Complete, Product Line Extended
The corporate name change to Jinko Holdings Limited took effect on October 23, following shareholder approval at the annual general meeting on October 21. Shares continue to trade under the ticker JKS. Investors at the meeting backed all proposed resolutions, including the re-election of Gang Chu and Steven Markscheid as independent directors and the ratification of PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian LLP as auditor for fiscal 2026.
