Kioxia Pins Its Next Test on AI Demand as Iwate Merger and 90 Yen Payout Take Shape
Published on 11/06/2026 at 12:11 | Editorial boerse-global.deKioxia Holdings has given investors plenty to work through in a single week: a first-half earnings report filed for the fiscal year ending March 2027, a dividend policy, a manufacturing merger, and a date on the calendar for its AI-focused showcase. The stock rose 7.5% on the day the semi-annual filing landed, with a separate reading putting the gain at 8.6%.
The Tokyo-based memory maker reported revenue of „4,247.2 billion for the six months through September, a figure it had already flagged on October 30. Operating profit for the half came in at „3,264.7 billion, while profit attributable to owners of the parent reached „2,197.9 billion.
Guidance Points to a Plateau
Management's outlook, also published October 30, projects revenue of „2,500.0 billion for the third quarter of fiscal 2026 â the October-to-December stretch â alongside an operating profit forecast of „1,995.0 billion. The company expects results in that quarter to land broadly in line with the second quarter. Hitting the top line would set a demanding bar for the next reporting cycle, and the case for optimism rests on whether anticipated demand actually shows up in the numbers.
What drove growth in the latest quarter, according to Kioxia, was a combination of higher average selling prices and increased bit shipments, with generative-AI data centers named as the principal source of demand. That mix matters: higher prices are most valuable when customers keep taking the volumes alongside them.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Kioxia?
Shareholder Returns and a Manufacturing Consolidation
Alongside the results, Kioxia set out its capital-return framework. The plan is to preserve net cash, buy back shares opportunistically, and pay progressive dividends. An interim payout of „90.00 per share â declared before the stock split â has been approved, totaling „47,937 million, with payment scheduled for December 8, 2026.
On the same day, Kioxia Corporation approved a merger with Kioxia Iwate Corporation. The combination, intended to bolster production of advanced flash memory, takes effect April 1, 2027, at which point Kioxia Iwate will be dissolved.
A Forum With NVIDIA and NTT on the Bill
Kioxia has also scheduled its KIOXIA Forum 2026 for November 26, where flash memory and SSDs for artificial intelligence will take center stage. Presentations will feature participation from NVIDIA and NTT, putting the company's memory technology squarely in the AI application spotlight.
Kioxia at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
The event gives shareholders a useful checkpoint, though its value will hinge on how concretely the sessions connect storage engineering to commercial demand. Technical prowess carries more weight when paired with a clear line of sight to orders â and the forum's real test is whether it makes that link legible.
Taken together, the reported results supply the firmer evidence for the AI narrative, the guidance sketches the scale management expects next, and the forum may help explain the technological foundation beneath those expectations. The operative question is simple: can Kioxia deliver on its forecast with demand holding up on both price and volume?
