Lenzing Wins Breathing Room on Two Fronts as Capital Raise Closes and Heiligenkreuz Gets a Reprieve
Published on 10/25/2026 at 16:20 | Editorial boerse-global.deLenzing has bought itself time — both financially and operationally. The Austrian fibre maker wrapped up a capital increase that grossed roughly EUR 301.2 million and, separately, pushed back the planned shutdown of its Heiligenkreuz site in southern Burgenland from the end of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027, a company spokesperson confirmed to the APA news agency on Thursday.
The financing and the site decision land together, giving the group more room to manoeuvre as it works through a turnaround.
Register Grows to 73.4 Million Shares
The Vienna Stock Exchange expanded its listing on Friday by 34,756,362 new Lenzing shares, lifting the total share count to 73,374,542. The new stock was issued at EUR 8.65 apiece. Subscription rights accounted for 99% of the offering, with the syndicate banks selling the remainder on the market at no less than the subscription price.
Lenzing intends to channel the proceeds into its "Grow Nonwovens, Reset Textiles" strategy and into shoring up its capital structure. Trade publication TextilWirtschaft reported that the cash gives the company greater financial flexibility for the transformation.

Goldman Sachs Crosses 4% Threshold
The expanded share base also reshaped the ownership picture. Goldman Sachs Group reported a voting rights position of 4.01% in Lenzing on Friday, up from 3.86% previously disclosed. The mandatory notification names Tuesday as the date the threshold was touched, meaning publication came after the relevant reporting day.
Insiders Pick Up Shares at the Issue Price
Several related-party disclosures rounded out Friday's filings, all tied to the capital measure. Oberbank exercised subscription rights to take up 1,344,177 new Lenzing shares at EUR 8.65 each; the bank is closely associated with supervisory board member Martin Seiter. B&C KB Holding, linked to supervisory board member Patrick Lackenbucher, had already acquired shares through the exercise of subscription rights on Thursday, likewise at the subscription price.
Management also participated. Board member Christian Skilich bought 1,710 shares at EUR 8.65 on Friday.
