Mutares shareholders have a lot to weigh right now, and not all of it points the same direction. MPCM lifted its price target on the holding company from EUR 41 to EUR 45 yesterday while reaffirming its buy recommendation — a vote of confidence that sits alongside a portfolio where several divestments are advancing but none has yet crossed the finish line.

Analyst Stefan Augustin, cited by dpa-AFX, justified the upgrade on the view that the value of subsidiary Nord Gas Solutions is not reflected in Mutares' share price. That is a judgment about embedded worth, not a confirmation of any sale proceeds. The distinction matters: a higher analyst valuation and the actual monetization of a stake are two separate events.

Nord Gas: the operating case behind the optimism

The upgrade rests on real operating substance. Roughly a week ago Mutares guided to revenue of more than EUR 575 million for Nord Gas Solutions in 2026, together with an adjusted EBITDA of around EUR 50 million. Those figures remain forecasts — they describe expected business performance, not results already booked.

Underpinning the outlook is a record order backlog of EUR 880 million, which gives the bullish read on the subsidiary a concrete operational anchor. Mutares also disclosed that it is reviewing strategic exit options for Nord Gas Solutions, including a possible listing in the Nordics. An IPO is therefore one option on the table, not a decided transaction.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Mutares?

Natura: terms agreed, closing still pending

At Natura, the gap between agreement and completion is equally clear. On Tuesday Mutares signed the key terms for the sale of the Polish drugstore chain with Grupa Kapita?owa Specja?. No financial details were disclosed. The purchase agreement and closing are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to clearance from Poland's competition authority, UOKiK, along with other customary conditions.

The deal is thus well defined but not yet executed. For anyone assessing the stock, the question is not only whether a closing happens, but whether the agreed conditions are met and the timetable holds.

Lapeyre: a majority sale with a retained stake

Lapeyre follows a different pattern. Roughly three weeks ago, according to AFP, Mutares received an irrevocable offer from a group of Italian entrepreneurs to acquire a majority stake in the business. Mutares is set to retain a minority holding, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. That structure differs from a full exit — the company would stay on board after the majority sale — making the offer a concrete transactional step rather than a completed divestment.

Mutares at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

What ties the three together

Across the portfolio, operational expectations, a positive analyst call and unfinished sale processes sit side by side. The next scheduled reporting date is November 12, when Mutares is due to publish third-quarter 2026 figures. Neither today's share price move nor the upgraded target pre-empts that report — just as neither settles the outcome of the potential stake sales still in motion.
