Nvidia has pencilled in November 17 as the date investors will finally get a hard financial read on the company, scheduling a conference call for 14:00 Pacific time to present results for the third quarter of fiscal 2027. The period closed on October 25, and the announcement came on Wednesday.

The timing matters because the chipmaker has spent recent weeks stacking up announcements that describe future business rather than booked results — a distinction that separates the upcoming report from everything else on the calendar.

Three Separate Clocks

Shareholders are effectively tracking three different timelines at once. The quarterly figures cover a completed three-month window. The supply-chain agreements unveiled on October 21 stretch years into the future. And the scrutiny of how Nvidia's chips are actually used sits outside both, framed by a US probe that has not reached any conclusion.

Take the October 21 supply deals, struck with Amkor, IBIDEN and Samsung Electro-Mechanics, covering substrates, advanced chip packaging, testing and optical components. Under the plans, substrate capacity for Nvidia products is meant to reach 2.5 times current levels within three years. That is a firm expansion target, not capacity already in place — a point worth holding onto when the November numbers land.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nvidia?

Huang Pushes Back on Megaspeed Questions

On the controls front, chief executive Jensen Huang on Tuesday described Nvidia's business ties to Singapore-based Megaspeed International as "normal and not unusual," according to Reuters. He said the company had reviewed how its AI chips were being used to make sure they were not illegally diverted into China.

His remarks followed reports of a US investigation involving a former Megaspeed executive. The distinction is significant: a probe into a former executive of a partner company does not establish wrongdoing by Nvidia, and Huang's account of internal checks does not by itself close every question about where the chips end up. What investors have is a company position defending the relationship — not a regulatory finding.

Meta Deal Adds Capital to the Mix

Alongside the export-control questions, Nvidia is deepening ties with the largest AI players. On Tuesday it announced a $3 billion investment in Meta's share offering, with the two companies simultaneously widening their collaboration on Meta's Muse models and the supporting AI infrastructure.

Meta intends to deploy Nvidia's Vera-Rubin systems, Vera CPUs and networking products more broadly. The cooperation therefore spans both model development and the hardware underneath it, with the equity stake layered on top of the commercial relationship. As with the supply agreements, the commitment has been announced and the wider product rollout described as a plan — neither translates into revenue already booked or a specific earnings contribution.

What the Quarter Can and Cannot Settle

When the results arrive next month, they will give a fresh reference point for Nvidia's financial trajectory against a backdrop of expanding partnerships and unresolved questions about shipment oversight. The earnings report captures a closed period; the substrate build-out and the Meta tie-up describe what comes next. Huang's defence of the Megaspeed relationship belongs to a third category — corporate commentary on compliance, pending any official outcome.

Keeping those layers apart is the real task for anyone trying to value the stock. Expansion plans speak to how much Nvidia could supply; the control checks speak to the conditions under which it is allowed to supply it.
