OHB Piles Up Moon and Satellite Mandates While Broker Conviction Meets a Sector-Wide Retreat
Published on 11/02/2026 at 06:51 | Editorial boerse-global.deOHB SE has stacked up a trio of space-sector commitments in the run-up to its nine-month report, though the market has so far refused to reward the stock for any of them. The Bremen-based group signed a memorandum of understanding with Astroscale Holdings on Wednesday, agreed a strategic tie-up with MediaMobil Communication, and — roughly a fortnight earlier — picked up a European Space Agency contract for feasibility and preliminary design studies on the lunar infrastructure concept OASIS.
The Astroscale arrangement is the least binding of the three. According to OHB, the two companies will explore joint opportunities in space safety, space situational awareness and in-orbit services. No specific projects, order values or contract volumes were disclosed; the agreement covers only the sounding-out of possible cooperation. The MediaMobil deal carries more weight. Under the partnership, OHB intends to acquire a 25% stake in the communications firm through a capital increase. A purchase price was not given, and the stake is planned rather than reported as completed.
The ESA mandate sits with OHB System AG, which is acting as prime contractor for the overall system concept of OASIS. The company did not attach a figure to the studies, and they do not amount to a construction or operations contract.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?
Separately, OHB Digital Connect closed out the EU-funded Eu-BEST project on 22 October, reporting the successful final acceptance of a modular test rig for rocket engine trials built at its Mainz site. Brussels backed the programme to the tune of EUR 4.96 million. OHB Digital Connect was responsible for the mechanical structures and the thrust-measurement system, with the project spanning development and commissioning of the European rocket-propulsion test stand.
Two Bulls, One Target
On the analyst side, Jefferies reiterated its Buy rating and EUR 280 price target on Thursday. Chloe Lemarie expects the positive margin trends seen in the first half to carry through ahead of the upcoming quarterly figures, and reckons OHB is on track to meet its full-year objectives. Her view is a forecast, not a reported result. Berenberg had already restated its own Buy call on Tuesday, keeping its EUR 358 target unchanged.
The stock, however, has been moving in the opposite direction. Shares fell 9.9% on Friday, a slide that coincided with losses at Airbus, Leonardo and Thales. Media reports pointed to profit-taking after a strong run as one possible explanation, though this has not been confirmed as the cause. The same coverage noted that technology names were under broad pressure, citing disappointing business commentary from Intel and worries about heavy spending on artificial intelligence as drags on market sentiment. No company-specific trigger for the drop was identified.
OHB is due to publish its quarterly financial report for the third quarter of 2026 on 12 November.
