OHB SE has spent the past few weeks stacking up strategic agreements while its share price drifted lower with the wider market. The Bremen-based space group closed Friday down 3.4%, a move that Reuters linked to a broad retreat in European equities rather than to anything specific on the company's own news flow. Uncertainty over the outlook for artificial intelligence and a general souring of market sentiment weighed on the continent's bourses, and OHB simply went along for the ride.

A quarter of MediaMobil, and a handshake with Astroscale

The company's most concrete corporate step came on 26 October, when it agreed a strategic partnership with MediaMobil Communication. Under the deal, OHB is taking 25% of MediaMobil's shares through a capital increase — a transaction that pairs operational collaboration with an equity stake in the partner.

Roughly two weeks earlier, OHB put pen to paper on a memorandum of understanding with Astroscale Holdings. The two sides will explore possible cooperation in space safety, space situational awareness and in-orbit services. For now the arrangement is a framework for talks rather than a signed contract.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?

Ownership of OHB itself remains firmly in family hands. The Fuchs family holds the majority, while KKR sits as a minority shareholder through Orchid Lux HoldCo — not as a parent company. According to the half-year report of 6 August, KKR's stake stood at around 20% after it sold down existing shares in June. That June capital increase was structured with KKR as the seller: fresh investors supplied the proceeds, and the private equity firm trimmed its position. It was not a new entry by KKR into the register.

Copernicus contract and the Hera milestone

On the operational side, the previously announced ESA order for the next generation of Copernicus Sentinel-3 topography satellites is the headline item. OHB subsidiary OHB System puts the contract volume at more than EUR 554 million, with an option for a second satellite on top of that.

There is also progress to report from deep space. The ESA probe Hera, built by OHB, has already returned its first image of the Didymos asteroid system. A further milestone is due on 25 November, when ESA is scheduled to publish detailed imagery of Didymos and its moon Dimorphos.

What comes first

Before any of that, OHB will publish its nine-month results for 2026 on 12 November and hold an earnings presentation the same day. The figures will land just under two weeks after Marco Fuchs, the group's chief executive, picked up the "EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2026" award in the innovation category at a ceremony in Munich on Friday — a bright spot on a day when the stock was heading in the other direction.
