A EUR 554 million ESA contract, a first close-up of an asteroid system and a fresh equity stake give OHB plenty to talk about when it reports nine-month figures on 12 November 2026. The market, for now, is unmoved.

Jefferies reaffirmed its buy rating on OHB and its EUR 280 price target on 29 October, ahead of the quarterly numbers. The endorsement landed alongside a substantial European Space Agency award and steady progress on the Hera probe. Investors were less enthusiastic: the shares closed Friday at EUR 192.80, down 3.4% on the final trading day of the week.

A Contract With Room to Grow

At the centre of the order book is the next generation of Copernicus Sentinel-3 topography satellites. OHB puts the contract volume at more than EUR 554 million, with the ESA as client and subsidiary OHB System AG as contractor. The deal carries an option for a second satellite — headroom that could lift the programme's value further if exercised.

Hera, another ESA project run through OHB System, has also been delivering. The spacecraft, which the company developed, returned its first close-up images of the Didymos asteroid system from a distance of roughly 60 kilometres. OHB additionally reported successful testing of the probe and of the deployment procedures for its two CubeSats, Juventas and Milani. The ESA and the mission team are now preparing the rendezvous phase, with detailed images of Didymos and Dimorphos scheduled for release on 25 November.

Two Agreements, Two Very Different Commitments

The company's partnership activity deserves a closer read, because the two deals signed in recent weeks are not cut from the same cloth. A memorandum of understanding with Astroscale Holdings, inked on 28 October, covers only the exploration of possible cooperation in space safety, space situational awareness and in-orbit services. No concrete order was announced; the three fields are simply under review.

The strategic partnership with MediaMobil Communication GmbH, agreed around two weeks ago, goes further. Through a capital increase, OHB is taking a 25% stake in the business — an actual equity position rather than a statement of intent.

Recognition and the Road Ahead

Chief executive Marco Fuchs has been named "EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2026" in the Innovation category. According to the company, he will represent Germany at the international competition in Monaco in 2027.

OHB SE at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

The near-term diary is crowded. OHB has slated 12 November 2026 for publication of its results for the first nine months of 2026, together with a results presentation. Two weeks later, on 25 November, the Hera mission reaches its next major milestone with the release of detailed imagery of the Didymos and Dimorphos pair. Between the two dates, investors will get their clearest signal yet on whether the contract wins and mission successes are translating into the numbers.
