Partners Group is moving on two fronts at once: shielding roughly EUR 6 billion of portfolio-company debt from hedge funds and distressed-debt specialists, while its private-credit machine keeps pulling in fresh commitments from US insurers.

The Zug-based group is working to make it harder for certain investor groups to acquire the loans of three holdings — Emeria SASU, Ammega Group BV and Breitling AG — according to Bloomberg, which first reported the effort on October 16. Significant maturities on that debt stack up in 2028, and the restrictions are meant to smooth the way for refinancing. No replacement financing has been completed; what the report describes is an attempt to shape who ends up holding the paper.

That distinction matters for anyone tracking the stock. Steering the creditor base is groundwork, not a refinancing result, and it sits entirely separate from the capital Partners Group raises for its own investment strategies.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Partners Group?

Insurers Anchor Second Rated Feeder

On that second front, the firm has closed its second rated feeder of the year for its private-credit evergreen strategy, drawing USD 510 million — all from US insurance companies, according to company statements. An earlier vehicle added USD 365 million in January 2026, bringing the total raised through rated feeders to USD 875 million.

The latest close is the larger of the two. It represents committed fund volume rather than revenue or profit, so the immediate takeaway is broader capital access for the strategy — and a finished fund, not a announced offering still in the pipeline.

Buyout Desk Reshuffles

Behind the fundraising headlines, the private-equity division has been reorganized. Bloomberg reported on October 15 that dozens of roles in the unit were cut or shifted, with some staff leaving the firm and others moving into areas including infrastructure and royalties. The changes are therefore a mix of departures and internal transfers rather than a straightforward headcount reduction.

Taken together, the picture for shareholders is a split one. Partners Group is securing fresh commitments for private credit at a healthy clip, even as several portfolio companies brace for looming debt maturities and its buyout team undergoes structural change. The new money answers none of the refinancing questions — but it is a distinct step forward on its own.
