PNE's downward revision to its 2026 earnings outlook has set off a wave of recalibration among research houses, with two analysts cutting their price targets within days of each other while keeping their buy ratings intact. The wind developer now expects EBITDA of EUR 60m to EUR 75m for the 2026 financial year, a sharp retreat from its earlier projection of EUR 90m to EUR 120m. Normalized EBITDA is guided at EUR 65m to EUR 80m.

The company pointed to a cluster of operational headaches behind the cut: projects pushed back, sales processes taking longer than anticipated, and permitting procedures dragging on. On top of that, PNE intends to hold a number of wind farms in its own portfolio rather than selling them as originally planned — a strategic shift that also feeds into the lower earnings forecast.

Analysts Trim Targets, Keep Faith

First Berlin Equity Research weighed in on 20 October, reducing its price target to EUR 8.30 from EUR 10.00 while reaffirming its buy recommendation. The move reflects a more cautious valuation without any change of heart on the stock's fundamental appeal. SMC Research had already confirmed its speculative buy rating with a EUR 8.90 target on 16 October.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying PNE?

MPCM followed suit roughly a week ago, as reported by Börsen-Zeitung, slashing its target to EUR 7.60 from EUR 12.00 — a far deeper cut — while leaving its buy rating in place. Analyst Philipp Kaiser simultaneously trimmed his 2027 EBITDA forecast by 25%.

Union Investment Slips Below Threshold

On the shareholder side, Union Investment Management disclosed a reduction in its voting rights to 2.96%, according to a filing published on 20 October. The threshold was crossed on 19 October. The prior notification had shown a voting rights share of 3.06%, alongside 1.77% held through instruments, bringing the total at that time to 4.83%. The newly reported figure refers to voting rights only.

Gnutz Ost Wind Farm Already Running

Operationally, PNE announced on 12 October the inauguration of its Gnutz Ost wind farm. Its three turbines boast a combined capacity of 18 MW and, according to the company, had already been feeding power into the grid since June 2026.

Investors will get their next look at the numbers on 12 November 2026, when PNE is scheduled to publish its quarterly statement for the third quarter of 2026 — the first set of results since the guidance cut.
