Rheinmetall Air Defence AG has struck an agreement with Silvus Technologies to fit passive high-frequency sensors into the Skynex air-defence system, a deal that also takes in the Skymaster command-and-control platform. The arrangement, announced on Friday, therefore covers both the weapon system itself and the platform used to direct it.

Separately, OCCAR on Thursday tasked Artec GmbH — the joint venture between Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland — with supplying a further 69 wheeled infantry fighting vehicles of the Schakal type. The Bundeswehr will take 35 of them, with the remaining 34 destined for the Dutch armed forces. Rheinmetall put its own share of the order value in the mid-three-digit million-euro range, and delivery of the extra vehicles is scheduled between May 2032 and November 2033. Artec is the contracting party; the figure Rheinmetall cited refers to its slice of the business.

The Düsseldorf-based group also confirmed that the first production-standard Caracal vehicles have been handed to the German and Dutch militaries. The ceremony took place on Thursday at the Dutch production site in Ede.

Deutsche Bank Trims Target, Keeps Buy Rating

Deutsche Bank Research lowered its price target on the stock on 27 October, cutting it to EUR 1,650 from EUR 1,800 while leaving its "Buy" rating in place, according to media reports. Analyst Christoph Laskawi pointed to an expectations dilemma surrounding the company's 2030 targets ahead of its capital markets day, even as the recommendation stayed unchanged.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rheinmetall?

Friday's trading told a different story from the order flow. Rheinmetall shares came under pressure in a broadly weaker market environment that weighed on German defence names, and the stock shed 2.0%.

Naval Portfolio Headed for Euronaval, Mangalia Deal Closed

Looking further out, Rheinmetall said on Friday it will present its naval portfolio at Euronaval, running from 3 to 6 November 2026. The showcase is set to include the Kraken K3 unmanned surface vessel, the Millennium Gun naval cannon and the MASS decoy system.

On the shipyard front, Rheinmetall and MSC won the auction for the joint acquisition of Romania's Mangalia yard on 20 October. The purchase price comes to around EUR 138 million, to be paid by the two partners together.
