Rock Tech Lithium Courts Institutions in Ontario as Guben Backer Anchors $5.31M Raise
Published on 09/26/2026 at 14:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deRock Tech Lithium is spending the final weekend of September in talks with the money managers it hopes will underwrite its twin converter ambitions. The German-Canadian cleantech developer is attending the Muskoka Capital Event in Ontario, a gathering announced on Thursday and running through September 27, where management has lined up 18 face-to-face meetings with capital providers.
The conference circuit follows a fortnight of structural moves aimed at pushing financing forward on both sides of the Atlantic.
A strategic name behind the placement
Roughly two weeks ago, Rock Tech closed a non-brokered private placement with a maximum target of about C$6.0 million. Across the first two tranches, the company issued 8,171,793 units at C$0.65 apiece, raising gross proceeds of approximately C$5.31 million.
One subscriber stands out. A strategic investor — not yet publicly named — took down C$3.25 million worth of units. According to media reports, that same party is weighing a direct equity stake at the project level in the planned lithium hydroxide converter in Guben, Brandenburg. The German site already holds its full permitting package and sits at the center of Rock Tech's European supply-chain blueprint.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rock Tech Lithium?
Net proceeds from the raise are earmarked for the feasibility study at the Georgia Lake mine, continued development of the Red Rock converter, and general working capital.
Siemens on board for Red Rock
North of the border, the company is deepening its engineering bench. Rock Tech is working with Siemens Canada on a digital process twin and automated process controls for the proposed Red Rock lithium converter in Ontario, work folded into the site's feasibility study. That study is due for completion by mid-December 2026.
CFO change steers the funding transition
Personnel changes have accompanied the operational ones. Derek Sobel returned as Chief Financial Officer about two weeks ago, succeeding Christopher Wright. Sobel's brief includes steering the deployment of capital through the technical and economic assessments now underway, and overseeing the shift of finance functions toward the Canadian side of the business.
Shares steady after Friday's gain
Investors took the developments in stride. The stock finished Friday's session at EUR 0.4400, up 2.8 percent on the day, giving the project developer a market value of roughly EUR 52.69 million.
Whether the Ontario meetings translate into tangible headway on the overall financing package is now the question occupying shareholders.
