Sivers Semiconductors shares moved up on the first trading day of the week, adding 2.2% to reach EUR 1.87. No company-specific release accounted for the advance. What has given the stock its footing is a run of operational news, above all production orders triggered by a strategic LiDAR customer for sensor programs serving the automotive and industrial markets.

Under that arrangement, the chipmaker will supply specialized CW DFB lasers alongside optical amplifiers. Component deliveries are slated to begin in the current fourth quarter, with volume production of the customer's programs expected to get underway next year. Sivers did not disclose a fixed figure for the orders placed so far.

What the Revenue Range Does and Does Not Say

The scale of the opportunity is best captured by an earlier management estimate: across the full product lifecycle, the company puts cumulative revenue potential at between USD 53 million and USD 138 million. That range, published on October 20, is tied to the customer's product lifecycle. It is neither the value of the production orders already received nor a committed annual revenue figure — a distinction that matters for anyone reading the headline number as booked business.

The orders themselves mark a concrete step in the customer relationship. How much revenue ultimately flows from them cannot be equated with the entire estimated lifecycle potential, and even the top of the range remains an estimate rather than secured income. The announcement does describe specific components and end markets; the commercial scale, however, extends well beyond the first shipments.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Sivers Semiconductors?

Timing deserves the same care. Deliveries are due to start in the fourth quarter of 2026, while Sivers expects the programs to enter their production phase in 2027. A nearer delivery start and a later production ramp sit side by side, and first shipments do not mean the programs have already reached full production — just as the whole lifecycle potential should not be attributed to the opening quarter.

Short Interest Eases as Governance Items Clear

Among institutional players, pressure appears to be easing. According to media reports, Citadel Securities has cut its bet against the company below the statutory disclosure threshold. That leaves three short sellers still required to report, holding a combined 5.93% of the share capital.

On the organizational side, last Thursday's extraordinary general meeting set several courses. Shareholders backed a change of auditor, appointing Ernst & Young AB to succeed Deloitte AB. The meeting also approved the P11 employee option program, authorizing the board to issue new C-shares to implement it and to cover associated social security contributions.

A Milestone With a Longer Runway

Moving from pure development projects to initial series deliveries is regarded in the industry as a significant milestone. Viable sensor programs can generate recurring revenue over the medium term and strengthen the predictability of production capacity utilization. Confirmation of the upcoming production phases gives the company operational visibility.

The stock has already shown considerable upward momentum this year, sitting 381% higher since the start of January. Today's gain of 3.6% offers no clear read-through to the order announcement itself. Investors now have a nearer checkpoint: the interim report for the third quarter of 2026, scheduled for release on November 26 — ahead of the year-end in which deliveries are set to begin. The LiDAR news represents genuine operational progress, but it does not justify treating the entire potential business as revenue already earned.
