Tilray Sets Carlsberg Launch Date While Jefferies Lifts Its Target Without Loosening Its Sell Call
Published on 10/30/2026 at 15:34 | Editorial boerse-global.deTilray Brands has confirmed that its US tie-up with Carlsberg will go live on 1 January 2027, with the company targeting first-year volume of roughly one million cases. That figure is an internal objective rather than sales already booked, and it arrived alongside a fresh round of restructuring in the company's American beverage operations.
The overhaul is designed to deliver annual savings of about $20 million by the close of fiscal 2028. Tilray simultaneously reaffirmed its guidance for fiscal 2027, still projecting adjusted EBITDA of between $68 million and $75 million — a range that sits in an earlier period than the savings programme, which only lands in the following year.
On the sell side, Jefferies raised its price target on the stock to $13 from $12, according to media reports, while leaving its "Reduce" rating in place. The lift therefore did not translate into a warmer recommendation. The analysts pointed to a slimmed-down brewery network and the volumes expected from Carlsberg as potential drivers of better utilisation rates and improved returns, tying their view to both the production footprint and the anticipated extra volume.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Tilray Brands?
Investors were unimpressed. Shares slipped 1.9% on the day, so neither the cost-cutting targets nor the higher analyst target generated any upward momentum in the price.
Away from the balance-sheet story, Tilray's drinks division kept up a steady stream of announcements. Breckenridge Distillery, a Tilray subsidiary, unveiled a limited bourbon release with University of Denver Athletics, capped at 230 bottles. Each bottle sold will direct $100 toward scholarships for the university's men's ice hockey team, with the special edition marking the programme's eleventh NCAA championship.
Two other brands under the Tilray umbrella also made news. BrewDog, together with West Ham United, had already presented Boleyn Brew on 21 October — a fan-developed oat lager at 4.5% alcohol by volume, with limited cans sold online and the beer set to be introduced at London Stadium. Blue Point Brewing, meanwhile, announced its annual Cask Ales Festival on 22 October; the event takes place on 7 November in Patchogue and features samples from more than 100 casks, live music and food trucks.
