Ubtech Robotics has flipped the switch on its long-awaited Liuzhou plant, a move that pushes the Chinese humanoid maker from pilot-stage tinkering into genuine volume manufacturing. Investors greeted the milestone warmly: the stock climbed 4.5% on Friday to close at EUR 9.35, riding a broader wave of enthusiasm for humanoid robotics names. The gain offers only partial relief, though — year to date, the shares are still down 35%.

A 14,000-Square-Metre Bet on Scale

Located in Liuzhou in the Guangxi autonomous region, the new facility spans 14,000 square metres and is engineered to roll out more than 10,000 humanoid robots annually. At full tilt, an industrial humanoid unit is meant to leave the line every ten minutes. The plant also houses what the company describes as the industry's first fully automated three-dimensional high-bay warehouse — a detail that underscores how much of the production process Ubtech intends to hand over to machines themselves.

The site was built in partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software and doubles as a showcase for automated assembly lines on which humanoid systems are themselves manufactured. For Ubtech, the strategic logic is straightforward: shifting from pilot deployments to industrial-scale output should drive down unit costs and open the door to wider deployment across production lines.

Order Book Swells at Home and Abroad

Capacity is only half the story. On 10 September, Ubtech signed overseas contracts worth a combined total of more than 50 million RMB with customers in Europe, Japan and South Korea. The agreements cover deliveries of the Walker C1 humanoid service robot as well as lifelike units from the U-World U1 series. The fresh capital is earmarked for further development of highly integrated joint modules and specialised robot models.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Ubtech Robotics?

A day earlier, on 9 September, media reports indicated the company had won a tender for a commercial humanoid service robot project in Leshan, Sichuan province, valued at roughly 150 million RMB. Together, the two deals push Ubtech's recent order intake past the 200 million RMB mark.

First-Half Figures Reveal the Shape of the Business

The production ramp-up arrives against a backdrop of explosive growth. Revenue for the first half of 2026 reached 1.27 billion RMB, up 104.2% from the same period a year earlier. Humanoid robot sales surged 268.3% to 16,123 units.

The standout performer was the full-size embodied-intelligence segment, where revenue rocketed 1,445% to 590 million RMB on the back of 921 units sold. Roughly a month ago, the company also rolled out an equity incentive programme, issuing 3,624,470 H-shares to 409 eligible recipients.

Consumer Push Adds a Second Front

Beyond industrial deployments, Ubtech is pressing ahead with its consumer business. More than 13,000 pre-orders were on the books for its consumer device ahead of launch, a figure that will now be tested against the company's ability to convert reservations into actual revenue.

With Liuzhou humming and the first home deliveries under way, Ubtech finds itself at a pivotal juncture. For investors, the question is no longer whether the company can build humanoids at scale — it is how quickly it can work through its backlog and turn those orders into cash.
