Vortex Energy's Two-Province Salt Strategy Comes With a C$9.81 Million Price Tag
Published on 10/03/2026 at 01:00 | Editorial boerse-global.deVortex Energy has split its Canadian exploration effort across two provinces, pairing a freshly acquired Saskatchewan permit with an ongoing geophysical campaign on the Atlantic coast. Both targets share a common thread: geological salt formations that could serve not only conventional resource uses but also industrial energy storage.
The financial weight of the two programs, however, sits almost entirely on the Prairie side.
A C$255,000 Entry Ticket in Saskatchewan
Vortex Energy picked up full rights to the Meadows project from Global Strategic Minerals Corp., securing Subsurface Mineral Permit #SMP273. The property spans roughly 21,600 hectares across 338 government land parcels. Alongside the mineral licence, the company absorbed all transferable technical data and regulatory approvals tied to the ground.
The cash consideration was modest — C$255,000 paid to the previous owner at closing. What follows the signature is far heavier. Vortex Energy has committed to a work program requiring roughly $9.81 million in spending over eight years, with obligations running from July 14, 2026. Media coverage of the deal points to salt deposits relevant to energy storage as the exploration target, but the arrangement is less about holding acreage than about funding active fieldwork on it.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Vortex Energy?
That eight-year commitment alone exceeds the explorer's entire market value. The stock closed yesterday at $0.4032, leaving the company with a market capitalization of about EUR 6.95 million. Carrying both projects forward — and any future drilling — will depend on the company's ability to line up viable financing.
Gravity Survey Underway in Newfoundland and Labrador
On the eastern front, Vortex Energy is advancing its wholly owned Robinsons River salt project. Roughly two weeks ago the company engaged Lonquist Field Service (Canada), ULC to design and manage a targeted ground gravity survey across the property.
The measurement campaign is intended to fill gaps in the existing gravity data set, sharpening the picture of subsurface salt structures. Fieldwork remains subject to regulatory approvals and formal access agreements.

A Rocky Stretch for the Share Price
Trading in the stock has been choppy of late. According to media reports, the shares posted notable losses during Wednesday's session, though no company announcement surfaced to explain the pullback directly.
For Vortex Energy, the path ahead runs on two tracks at once: geophysical groundwork at Robinsons River, and the steady fulfillment of the work commitments it took on in Saskatchewan.
