800V architecture for AI data centers
In a September 16 release, Business Wire reported that Bloom Energy released a report on its 800V DC-native fuel-cell solution for AI data centers. The company said its analysis modeled a USD 3.60 billion reduction in non-compute capital expenditures for a 1-gigawatt data center, equal to 27.00 percent, compared with traditional AC solutions.
The same company analysis estimated a USD 5.50 billion reduction in five-year total cost of ownership, or 9.00 percent. Bloom said the model is based on next-generation AI rack assumptions and that actual project economics will vary with site design, energy prices, equipment costs and other project-specific factors.
