Bedford Metals has put down its drill rods at the Sheppard Lake uranium project in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, sending 218 core samples to an accredited lab in Saskatoon for the assays that will determine the next chapter for the explorer. The spring 2026 programme consisted of four NQ diamond drill holes totaling 1,135.7 metres — two holes each in the TZ1 and TZ2 target zones.

The standout interval came from hole SHP-26-05, where a handheld gamma-ray spectrometer picked up a peak of 121.1 ppm uranium with a uranium-to-thorium ratio of 2.52 within a pegmatite-hosted interval. Hole SHP-26-06 also delivered anomalous uranium readings, coinciding with strong alteration and sulphide mineralisation. The core recovery across the programme averaged 98.7 percent, providing a solid base for geological interpretation.

These field spectrometer values, however, are preliminary and non-certified. The company has shipped all samples to the Saskatchewan Research Council’s Geoanalytical Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017?accredited facility specialising in uranium geochemistry. Until those results land, the radiometric anomalies remain directional indicators rather than confirmed grades.

Geological mapping during the campaign identified structural corridors associated with known uranium mineralisation in the region: graphitic paragneiss, brittle and ductile shear zones, tonal alteration, and haematite-albite alteration along with sulphide mineralisation. The presence of alteration minerals such as albite, chlorite, illite, kaolinite and haematite — together with pyrite-bearing corridors — provides additional targets for follow?up work, provided the assays substantiate the field readings.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Bedford Metals?

On the stock market, Bedford’s shares closed the week at €0.10, a gain of roughly six percent that lifted the stock off its 52?week low of €0.08 set in late May. Even so, the equity is down 42 percent year?over?year and has lost about 22 percent since the start of 2026. The 200?day moving average of €0.13 remains well out of reach, underscoring a persistently bearish technical trend. The annualised 30?day volatility of over 54 percent means weekly moves of six percent are unremarkable for a micro?cap explorer, and the relative strength index at 51 sits in neutral territory.

The drilling campaign was funded through a private placement completed in April 2026, in which Bedford issued five million flow?through shares at C$0.20 each for gross proceeds of C$1 million. The proceeds are allocated to both Sheppard Lake and the company’s Ubiquity Lake project. The placed shares are subject to a statutory hold period expiring on August 14, 2026.

In a concurrent structural move, Bedford has shifted from quarterly to semi?annual financial reporting effective May 2026. Under Canadian regulations for venture issuers with annual revenue below C$10 million, the company will now file only annual statements and a semi?annual report due within 60 days of September 30, 2026. The change eliminates the need to produce a quarterly report for the three months ending June 30, 2026.

Bedford Metals at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

The next hard data point for the market is the release of the laboratory results from Saskatoon. Confirmation of the field spectrometer anomalies would provide a technical foundation for the next exploration phase, while weaker readings would put pressure on the current project valuation and the recent share price recovery.
