Duran Duran release Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes on 30 October 2026, bringing the remix album to physical formats. The collection expands the band’s collaboration with Nile Rodgers through a set of club-oriented reinterpretations.
Free To Love Hot Star Remixes reaches physical formats
The physical edition is Duran Duran’s first remix album made available on vinyl and CD. The official CD listing lists the package as shipping on 30 October and includes the album title, the original single and new versions by the band.
The release comes in CD, standard vinyl and a special-edition vinyl format. Each physical edition carries a different metallic-ink treatment, while the standard formats include an eight-page booklet featuring images by keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
A release overview identifies contributions from Horse Meat Disco, Trixie Mattel, Harrison, BastienkHz, ALISSIA, Biff Chitlins and DJ White Shadow. The names place the record across several strands of contemporary dance music without changing its central focus on Free To Love.
Duran Duran’s new release extends its dance music thread
The British new wave band frame the collection around Free To Love, the Nile Rodgers collaboration at its centre. The remix format keeps that song as the organising idea while inviting producers and artists to reshape its electronic and dance-floor character.
The project also connects external remixes with material created by Duran Duran. The CD and standard vinyl include Love Overture and Across the Galaxy, two reworkings credited to the band themselves.
That combination makes the 30 October release both a physical edition and an expanded presentation of one collaboration. It places the group’s own versions alongside outside interpretations rather than treating the album as a simple repackage.
The physical editions add new versions and artwork
The standard CD brings together the remixes released to date, the original Free To Love and the two new band reworkings. The vinyl edition carries the remix programme with the same Duran Duran additions, while the special package adds a bonus seven-inch record.
Rory McCartney designed the package, and Nick Rhodes’ images appear in the accompanying booklet material. The result gives each format a distinct presentation while keeping the song and its remixed versions at the centre.
