Duran Duran released the first-ever vinyl remix album, Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes, on 30 October 2026. The physical collection expands the Nile Rodgers collaboration into a set of guest remixes and new band reworks.
Free To Love: Hot Star Remixes reaches physical shelves
The collection brings together guest remixes of Free To Love, the single featuring Nile Rodgers. Horse Meat Disco, ALISSIA, Harrison, DJ White Shadow, Biff Chitlins, BastienkHz and Trixie Mattel contribute versions. The CD and 12-inch editions also carry Love Overture and Across The Galaxy, both presented as Duran Duran reworks.
Nexus Radio describes the package as a CD, a standard 12-inch vinyl edition and a limited-edition vinyl package. The special package pairs the LP with a bonus seven-inch containing the original track and Spaghetti Exit. The CD and standard vinyl editions include an eight-page booklet with photographs by Nick Rhodes.
Duran Duran connect new wave roots to a club remix project
The band’s Birmingham roots and new wave identity remain central to how the project reads. Official Charts describes Duran Duran as a new wave group associated with hit-making across several decades.
That established identity meets the dance-floor focus of the remix collection. Outside producers reshape the central song while the band retain their own presence through two new interpretations. For listeners in Germany, the release adds a physical entry to the catalogue while keeping the Nile Rodgers collaboration at its centre.
Eight remixes reshape one Nile Rodgers collaboration
The original single remains the common thread across the project. Guest producers broaden its electronic and dance-oriented character, while the band’s own versions provide a contrasting in-house perspective. The result places club reinterpretations alongside new material from the group itself.
The packaging extends that contrast into the physical formats. Nick Rhodes supplies the cover photography, and the standard editions include a booklet featuring his images. The collection therefore connects the sound of a remix project with the visual presentation long associated with the band.
