A Trick Of The Tail arrives on red vinyl in December
The Genesis shop listing gives 18 December 2026 as the expected release date. It identifies the pressing as a limited red-vinyl edition and places it on the Cherry Red label.
The listed sequence contains eight songs across two sides. Side One begins with Dance on a Volcano and Entangled, while Side Two includes Robbery, Assault and Battery, Ripples..., A Trick of the Tail and Los Endos.
Genesis places A Trick Of The Tail after Gabriel’s departure
The official Genesis site identifies From Genesis To Revelation as the band’s debut and describes its earliest lineup as school friends. It names Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel, Anthony Phillips and Mike Rutherford among the original members connected with that release.
The red-vinyl edition connects that early catalogue with a later phase of the band’s work. The shop description says A Trick Of The Tail was the first Genesis album after Peter Gabriel’s departure and the first to feature Phil Collins on lead vocals.
The same listing notes that the album reached number three on the UK albums chart. That combination of catalogue history and a physical anniversary edition places the December release within a clearly defined transition in Genesis’s recorded history.
