Universal Music Canada’s release announcement dates the album’s release to 23 October 2026 and names Republic Records as its label. It identifies Pharrell Williams as producer and co-writer across the project.

John Legend’s piano-led style meets a wider palette
An Associated Press interview describes Legend’s established work through piano-driven ballads. His role as a singer-songwriter, pianist and producer remains central to the way Muse is presented.
Released on 23 October 2026, the album extends that foundation with strings, horns, 808s, gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeats and hip-hop. The combination places Legend’s familiar piano-led identity alongside a more varied studio arrangement.
Muse connects John Legend to Clipse’s catalogue
The project grew from Legend’s appearance on Clipse’s album Let God Sort ’Em Out. His vocal on The Birds Don’t Sing helped inspire Pharrell Williams to build a full album around Legend’s voice.
That creative route links the 23 October 2026 release to both artists’ wider musical circles. The result is a collaborative album in which Pharrell’s production role and Clipse’s guest appearance are part of the record’s central design.
