KITSCHKRIEG connect German rap and pop through production
KITSCHKRIEG are a Berlin producer team whose reduced, cool beats have shaped German rap and pop since the mid-2010s. The team’s credits include work with Trettmann and the number-one hit Standard.
The production identity links the two nominations. The act appears in an artist category, while a collaboration is recognised in the song category, connecting KITSCHKRIEG’s own album project with a track made alongside Blumengarten and Shirin David.
Gut Genug carries KITSCHKRIEG into the song category
The nominated track comes from KITSCHKRIEG ZWEI, the team’s second own album and a feature project. The WDR profile describes guest appearances by Ennio, Levin Liam and Domiziana, alongside reinterpretations of Kraftwerk and Blümchen.
Gut Genug reached number one in Germany and Austria and entered the US Billboard charts. Its double nomination connects the producer team’s album work with the award’s artist and song categories.
