Mariah Carey expands Glitter into a 27-track release
Issued through Def Jam Records/UMe, the digital set adds 15 recordings to the original album. The Universal Music Canada release announcement describes rare and previously unreleased material from Carey’s vault, new remixes and collaborations with Channel Tres and Rochelle Jordan.
The collection runs to 27 tracks, including Lead The Way (1997 Version), Want You (Mariah Only Version), Out Here On My Own (Alternate Vocal Take) and All My Life (A Cappella). A live Glitter Medley and the Never Too Far / Hero (Medley) with Westlife extend the set beyond studio alternates.
Standard vinyl uses a Midnight Purple 2LP, while limited deluxe vinyl uses Glittering Pink and adds three bonus tracks: Out Here On My Own, Never Too Far/Hero (Medley) and Loverboy (Firecracker - Original Version). The release also includes a restored 4K Loverboy video directed by David LaChapelle.
Mariah Carey’s Glitter blends pop, funk and R&B
The original soundtrack is Mariah Carey’s eighth studio album and a film soundtrack, blending dance-pop, funk, hip-hop and R&B. Production credits named by Universal Music Canada include Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and DJ Clue.
For Carey, the release brings together the soundtrack’s dance-pop and R&B foundation with material that spans vault recordings, club remixes and a live performance. uDiscover Music’s Glitter overview also identifies the 27-track structure and the two coloured-vinyl editions.
