Prince 3121 Expanded Edition sets out its release plan
NPG Records and The Prince Estate have announced the release of 3121 Expanded Edition. It arrives worldwide on 11 December 2026, digitally and in 3LP + Blu-ray and 2CD + Blu-ray sets.
The digital edition pairs the original 12-track album with ten additional recordings from Prince’s vault. Several additions are acoustic versions, while the physical sets add a Blu-ray containing concert footage from Las Vegas.
The release is framed as a 20th-anniversary expansion, linking the album’s original sequence with archive recordings and live footage. The release formats place the studio material and performance film in the same physical package.
Prince’s Minneapolis sound shapes the expanded set
Prince was a singer, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and performer from Minneapolis. His music blended funk, rock, pop, soul and jazz, a combination reflected in the range of the expanded programme.
The official Prince website presents Timeless under his name. The new edition instead returns to the musical world of 3121, placing vault recordings beside an established album sequence and concert footage.
Prince’s Las Vegas projects add two more dates
The wider programme adds two dated releases around 11 December 2026. 3121 Las Vegas Live arrives on 27 November 2026 for Record Store Day Black Friday in 3LP crystal blue vinyl and 2CD editions.
The film Prince: 3121 Las Vegas Concert opens in the United States and Canada from 3 December 2026 for a limited run. The same performance will appear on the Blu-ray included with the expanded physical sets.
