Wienerberger has lined up a leadership change in its UK & Ireland business, naming Nevitt as Chief Operating Officer effective 1 November 2026. Barker will retire on schedule and is expected to stay on through the end of December to help smooth the handover. The succession touches the operating management of the regional unit, with the transition set for early November and Barker's support running past that point to year-end.

The appointment lands against a demanding backdrop for the brickmaker. Roughly three weeks ago, Wienerberger pointed to weak demand in residential construction as the reason for cutting its earnings guidance, with the UK and North America singled out as particularly affected. Added cost inflation piled on the pressure.

For the full year 2026, the company lowered its EBITDA forecast to EUR 640–650 million. Revenue for the third quarter was projected at roughly EUR 1.2–1.3 billion, with operating EBITDA for the period seen at about EUR 170–180 million. Those figures were company expectations at the time, not published quarterly results.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Wienerberger?

Analysts Pull Back

On Field Investment Research reaffirmed its "Neutral" rating about a week ago but cut its price target from EUR 33.0 to EUR 20.0 — a change to the target only, with the investment verdict left untouched. Jefferies, meanwhile, initiated coverage of Wienerberger with a "Hold" rating and a EUR 16 price target, citing a lack of near-term recovery signals. The analysts see potential catalysts only in 2027.

The stock edged up 0.2% yesterday to close at EUR 16.17, a modest gain at the start of the trading week.

UBS Position Shifts

UBS Group AG's voting rights position has also changed. The prior disclosure had stood at 4.49%. The more recent total breaks down into 0.55% held through shares and 3.65% through financial instruments, meaning the bulk of the reported voting rights sits in instruments rather than directly held stock.

Investors get their next hard data point on 12 November 2026, when Wienerberger is due to publish its first-to-third-quarter 2026 results.
